I'm looking to purchase a good sampler. I specifically need one that's good for sampling sounds that I would then scale down the keyboard. I have an MPC2000XL, which does this, but it doesn't scale the sample in key, and only one octave is really true to the sound. So basically, I wanna be able to sample a nice sounding horn sound from a record or CD,loop a small portion of the sound, then scale it over the entire keyboard so I can use the sound as an instrument. Anybody have any suggestions? I've read some reviews of Emu samplers and Akai samplers, but the reviewer most times focuses on the specs, and not what they actually used the machine for.
