whats the converter called to change a s/pdif to a line-in so i can have 9 channals instead of 8 on my interface?? if so how much do they usally cost?

you worded it a little strange. I think you're wanting to take the S/PDIF input on your 1010LT (which is two channels, btw...not one. So you'll get 10 inputs), and make it accept an analog device you have?
In that case you need some sort of A/D converter.

They can get kind of pricey. You won't really find any simple adapters you can throw on the end of a cable. If this is for something like a microphone, you may look at getting a preamp with some sort of digital output on it.

Actually, one of the cheapest and most effective solutions is TC Electronics M350.

or an older M300. Yeah, it's not a Lucid or better, but it isn't $600 or so, either.
I have used the M300 as an A-D D-A convertor extensively, and it works rather well, as long as you don't use a lot of makeup gain, which is still possible even with the global bypass switch on. What the hell? It turns S/PDIF into 2 balanced 1/4" outs, or 2 balanced 1/4" ins into S/PDIF with 24 bit depth. And it's not really a bad reverb unit. If you don't find a use for one, you'll find a use for the other. A truly great $200 box.-Richie
