Room mics for drums????

Can anyone recommend a good room mic for drums in the $800 or less (each) range? (I'll be using two.) I mostly use the room mic signal in the final mix and use the close mics for reinforcement. THANKS!!!

I recommend a matched-pair of Earthworks QTC1s for $1900US as a pair. I know it's over your budget. Sorry.

The other option is a matched-pair of Earthworks TC30Ks for $1050US as a pair.

And again, if you can swing-it, either a matched-pair of Royer/Speiden SF-12 for $1950US.

I hear the Royer R-121s are more versetile, but a matched-pair of those would cost more than the SF-12 and it's already over your budget.

Also, the Coles 4038s are classics, but again, it wouyld cost you $2150US for a matched-pair.
