Roland Space echo

I've got a Roland Space Echo RE-201. It was abandon and now I'm taking care of it. This thing has an amazing reverb/echo. Whole lotta fun. Now here's the couple o' questions.

1)Anyone besides me seen one know anything bout them etc?
2)It has 1 record head and 5 playback heads (visual inspeciton here) and uses 1/4" tape. I was curious if anyone sees a reason not to change out the tape to some newer 1/4". The older tape is literally "taped" and is very noisy I wanted to clean the heads and put new tape on.

Thanks,

Nah, this forum works fine.

2) No, there is no reason not to change it. There still was finished loops to buy 10 years ago, I still have some, butI don't know if they are still availiable. Otherwise you'll have to learn how to splice tape (which isn't that hard).

1) Yes, I've seen one, used it extensively and love it. The Space Echo rules! I'm gonna strangle Pär if he didn't bring ours up with him this time either. He PROMISED! Grrr.... I'm positive the Space Echo together with my Octava Mic will sound excellent!
