Rode on the road - sort of...

I'm buying a mic for both PA and recording applications. We're going to do the 'one mic' stage set up that a lot of bluegrass ensembles are doing. I've seen the AT4033 and AT4050 (also have reports of Pro 37R) mics used for this. I'm wondering if I could consider a Rode NT-1 or NT-2 for this application instead. Thoughts?

Thanks for the help!

If you want a good mic that you can use in the studio as well as live, I would invest in a mic that has Super Cardioid (Live) and Cardioid (Studio) patterns. One such mic that has these multiple patterns is the AKG C4000B.

Does any one know of any other mics that has the Super Cardioid as part of their multi-paterns?
