RME Fireface 800 where is the midi???

Hey guys, i may be completely stupid, but for some reason i can't hear any midi playback in Sonar... I am using the RME Fireface 800..Can anyone suggest what i may be doing wrong... I have the fireface set up as my midi device for both input and output..

please help...

Unlike gamer cards, high-end sound interfaces do not come with a MIDI synth built-in.

The manufacturers assume that you will not want some cheesy rom midi sounds and you will use a quality hardware or software midi synth.

By selecting the RME out in Sonar it sends the data to the out port. You'll either have to hook up a hardware synth or point the out at a software synth.

Sonar has a General MIDI module and a sampler. Or you can download rgcaudio.com free "SFZ" soundfont player and load up a big general MIDI soundfont from hammersound.net (I use Unison or Cadenza...)
