Does anyone know what type of reverb or delay is used for the drum track on jimi hendrix's "axis bold as love".

The first half is probably an EMT plate with some predelay (probably used the reverb send to go to tape, off the playback head for a bit of delay before being routed to the plate)
You're probably interested in the effect starting with the drum solo part in the middle. The second half (obviously a different recording edited together) is flanged. And this was before electronic flangers, so it had to have been true "flanging," putting your finger on the tape reel flange, letting it speed up and slow down. As far as I know, that was the only way to do it back then.
