Hello. Im new to this whole recording to your computer thing. I would rather record to a 8-24 track recorder, but being a poor college student, I can afford it. So, I have a couple of questions: 1. Can I record multi-tracks on to my computer at the same time? 2. What sound card would be the best?

You've opened the door wide open here...firstly, yes you can record multi/simultaneous track to PC. I would suggest you do a search here on the the forum for Audio Card and/or Audio Interface. There are a bunch of options in front of you which are going to be driven by your needs and budget and your computer set up. One of the more popular interfaces would be the M-Audio Delta cards. Check out the M-Audio Website http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.list&ID=pciinterfaces but, there are lots of other manufacturers out there.
