Recording Wah (Cry Baby)

Hi Folks,
I'm ready to lay down my guitar solo but not sure how best to rig it up. I want to use a heavy sound on the V-amp2 and want to use my wah pedal. Problem is, last time I plugged the wah into the V-amp it crashed it and I lost all my settings. Don't want this to happen again. What's the best way to go about it with best results? No amp, I'm afraid.

Have you tried V amp into wah?
Putting Wah through an effect will flatten it out quite a bit -

I tried that yesterday but thought it sounded a bit weird. Not sure what the solution is. Perhaps wah, into compressor, into V-amp. Don't have a compressor though!

record the solo and wah straight in and run the playback through the vamp while you record..

then "reamp" the solo through the vamp so you can change sounds to fit the part...

that's how i'd do it if I couldn't get the wah and vamp working properly in the tracking phase..
