Recording vocalists like Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, etc.

How would you go about recording a vocalist who has a good natural voice but uses a lot of falsetto, even the Halford kind of falsetto on like "Painkiller" or "Riding on the Wind"

Any tips?

Those guys have power, usually more power in the falsetto than the normal range. It can help to train a vocalist to back off during the falsetto parts, but a reasonable distance is usually indicated at all times, say 1' or so.

Thanks for the tip. What kind of EQ or effects are typically on those types of vocalist's recordings to make them sound better in the mix of guitars?
