Hi there,
At the moment, I am recording my stuff through an M-Audio Fast Track USB and Logic Pro. I have a Shure PG48 as a mic, and I use Dolby 5.1 Speakers for the sound output.
I'm thinking of upgrading my stuff to get a better recording studio going. I'm a student, and I'm mainly doing home stuff, but seriously. Therefore, I'm on a fairly tight budget. At the moment though, I am getting naff quality recordings, and I'm recording Acoustic Guitar through a pickup which I know isn't right.
So, what do I need? To get better quality recordings I mean. I need a few mics - maybe a vocal one and a couple of condensers, and I'll need a preamp of some sort. This is where I go hazy. To all preamps have a USB out so I can use them in conjunction with Logic? And what is Phantom Power? Does anybody have any reccomendations for me concerning the equipment?
