I have two problems pertaining to MIDI recording. When I record regular audio such as guitar, Cubase lets me loop record and I can choose which take I like best. However, when I do MIDI recording ( I have an Akai LPD8) , it does not do loop record and I basically only get one shot and making a good take. Every time it loops around again it keeps layering and I do not want that.
The second problem is the most annoying one. When I start recording, if I do not start pressing any midi key EXACTLY on the the first beat nothing will record at all on playback. I have to deliberately start pressing the keys a hair after the first beat to be sure it is being recorded.
