Recording in a loft?

I'm considering new apartments, and there is one that I really like with a loft. The loft part would have to be my studio space. I'm wondering if this is an ok idea, good idea, or horrible, horrible idea. The loft is not enclosed, one side is open over the living room, and as you can imagine it's pretty high up. I could probably hang blankets to enclose the space. Sorry for the poor descriptions, the website doesn't have pictures or even dimensions.

Does this sound like a workable space? Should I look elsewhere? Thank so much in advance.

Put your recording gear in the loft and track in the big room below.

High ceilings= good.

depends what what you mean by horrible.

As mentioned, recording in the room below with your recording equip up in the loft might be nice sounding, if the ceilings are high. but if you are recording yourself, that might be not so convienent. from a sound isolation standpoint if you need to not bother roommates or neighbors it could be a problem.
