Recommended Pre-Amp for Yamaha NS10s

Hello,

after good results mixing on NS10s in different studios, i bought myself a pair (NS10m Studio version) but i read that you need a good quality pre-amp/power amp to get the best out of them. Im currently using them with my Cambridge Audio A5 hi-fi preamp,

what Pre-amps can you recommend me for the NS10s

Uhhhh....Unless the Cambridge is an INTEGRATED amp, you aint gettin nothin out of those speakers..... A power amp is needed. A preamp is just that...a PRE-Amp..........A preamp involves aspects of contol over the levels, possible EQ settings , and distribution of the signals. An amp is just power only. Unless its an INTEGRATED amp and then it has preamp capabilities as well as a power amp section to dole out to whatever speaker you deem worthy.

I personally wouldnt recommend ANY preamp for that set of speakers.

Owned em.....dont like em.

I would choose another.

As for power amp for them....get at least twice the power rating of these boxes as your basic amplification for them. They can certainly handle a LOT of power.
