Recommend Reliable and Simple USB-2 Interface

I have a client who wants to do voice tracking for her hypnotherapy clients.

She wants to pick up a new laptop, and acquire a USB-2 mic interface and decent mic and do basic mixing. The end result is subliminal program material in one channel, and her voice over either pan-center or in the other channel.

My question is for a referral to a reliable and decent performing USB2 interface box. My own situation is DAW plus a pair of Aardvark Q10, and I'm not in an experienced position to recommend a USB interface for her.

The M-Audio MobilePre is a USB1.1 device. I'm OK with this, as long as it works.

The box is appealing, especially so with +48v phantom power. I would never run a box like this powered from USB... always with a powered hub. The USB circuitry cannot provide much power, especially if phantom is engaged.

Does anybody have experience with the bundled Live 4 software?

This package looks like it will do the trick for my client.

I would get something like Protools M-powered or Cakewalk Home Studio. You can download demos of both after you get the until to see which on will work for them
