Really Confusing....

Hi

I have got all my songs recorded onto minidisc. I am now tryin to input the songs into my computer. I have got as far as recording the files as WAV. files, and all is fine. HOwever when i try to convert the files to 16kbps MP3 it causes the volume to decrease ridiculously and a complete loss of quality.
I have done this before without problem.

Note:
The recording (MD to computer) done on previous attempts were done from the headphone output to the MIC input of the computer...
This wouldn't work this time (i don't know why!) So i did it from the line out of the MD into the line in of the computer, and it worked fine until the Mp3 conversion.

I am very confused

Any ideas

You meant 160 kbps, right?? Otherwise, that's the problem! You need to convert to at least 128 kbps

Since you already have the .wav in your computer, what bearing would the method of importation from the MD recorder have on the process of mp3 encoding? None sez me.

What mp3 converter are you using?
