So i went to some pawn shop today, and i got two mics on the cheap (or at least im hoping). I got an ElectroVoice CS15e (looks like a small diaphragm condenser? it says "cardioid condenser element" on it) and an unmarked microphone.

First of all, the unmarked mic i got has a weird connector which looks like this:

Any info on this type of connector / microphone?? The mic seems like a dynamic to me, but i could be wrong. It has a switch, but the plate is missing, and i am guessing this is where the info used to be. Could i "hot rod" this thing??? Anybody got anything?? Here is another pic:

Also, has anyone used, or have any insight or suggestions for the EV mic???

Thanks for a-n-y info...

oh wow...alriiigght! ha...
sounds good to me...

i had already tried the cs15e on the accoustic this afternoon...I really liked it. It's certainly alot less noisey than the sp b1 i had been using. Its got a meatier tone to it, too. Less high end hiss..

as for the older one...the one you said would be good on vocals...

could you steer me in the right direction as far as getting the thing plugged in???? I dont know how to handle the plug on the bottom. Oh yeah...any idea how old it is??

Thanks alot Harvey.

It's from the 60's. Contact EV and they'll tell you about it and the connector you need.
