real home recording

I may have a chance to do a stereo live recording of a home concert. It's folk music with a concertina. I would like to keep things as simple and unabtrusive as possible. I'm thinking X/Y some small condensers (cardioid) from the ceiling. I'm open to all advice and any other suggestions like a-b decca ect.
I'm going to DAT

Maybe a Jeklin disc. Basicly it's two omni condensors mounted on either side of a disc shaped baffle. I made one out of a piece of aluminum with a mouse pad glued to each side. The baffle improves stereo image and the two mics being mounted so close together makes it phase friendly and the omni's pick up all.

Oh well...

That means I need to do some shopping. I guess I've been holding off for the new SP's. I can always put a pair of 8000's in locker for $80. It just hurts pulling out the wallet after doing a quick inventory the other day. Man it never ends, there is no bottom to this pit.
