Random synth sound I want to track.

I think this is in the right forum...I not really a keyboard midi man synth dude...just a guit player..


Anyway, what makes that whirling gizmo like singing sound that is used in the beach boys' 'good vibrations' and what is my best bet at getting that sound into my DAW for a recording? Is it a moog or something...where could I get a sample of it to use in a sequencer, if anyone knows? What's my best bet?
 
I believe it'd be impossible to sample a Theremin, as the coolest part of the tone is the gliding in between notes.

You're best bet without finding a real one is to download a free emulator, dubbed Mysteron, from www.fxpansion.com. With some careful programming, it can sound almost like the real thing
