Rackmounted Audio Interface

Hi there

I am currently using a Tascam-122L as my audio interface, but I want a rackmounted one. I don't use many channels as I record alone, I also dont need mic pre's as I have a separate unit. Considering I don't need mic pres on the interface and also dont really need many channels (no more then 4), what is a good unit to buy?

Cheers

Very very happy with my Motu828mkII. 2 pres on the front, 8 line-ins and line-outs on the back plus ADAT and rack-mounted. Zero problems.

If you don't need pres, and you want a ton of routing and input capabilities in a 1U rack module... I'd suggest the MOTU 2408... you can steal these older mk II units used...

Look it up... There's not much it won't handle in or out

The 2408 series are PCI card interfaces. So if you need a USB or firewire interface, they obviously won't work.

Most multichannel interfaces are going to have preamps. So it might be best to find one with the other features you need and just expect you'll have a few preamps you won't use.
