Quiet PC's?

Hey everyone... CNN had a news article today on machines being too loud in the workplace.

They mentioned a company www.endpcnoise.com that makes "silent" pc's and sells silent parts.

I figured this would be very applicable to the studio environment, as it may mean not having to fully enclose machines in the studio anymore.

just thought some of you might want to take a look.

Yeah, I've bought a few things from them for my DAW.....got a Nexus PHT-3600 CPU fan/heatsink and also a Papst 8412-NGL case fan....both of them are extremely quiet.....got a Seasonic Super Silencer 400 power supply (from another site) that is very quiet too.

Makes a difference....

I just built a plywood box... cut 20-30 db out of the room noise.

PC will get a little warm but I'm working on fashioning a heat sink to transfer the heat out... pretty simple to do just I'm out of state for the past month
