Question on stands and pop filters...

I am planning to get a mic but it only comes with a shockmount. I was wonderin if the shockmount would screw on to any microphone stand.

and do pop filters work for every mic, or do they only fit those with the same brand name?

Ive been writing music but im new to this recording thing.

The shockmount will screw onto a mike stand okay. However, be aware that there are two 'standard' fittings. The shockmount shoud come with an adapter . . . most do these days.

Pop filters can be used with any mike
