Question about Shure SM86...

This is probably an embarassing newbie question, but is the Shure SM86 considered to be a large or small diaphragm condenser? I mean, obviously the diaphragm isn't as small as say an NT5, but is it as large as something in a typical LDC?
Anyway, feel free to laugh, as long as you also respond with the correct answer

There are mediums as well.

It is not a large diaphragm, it is not the smallest, probably a medium or smaller. It is intended to be a handheld stage mic, and LDC do not do well with handheld apps.
