Punching in?

Hey, on cubase se, is it possible to punch in to a recorded part but let it play up to that bit then start recording. im struggling to press record then be quick enough to start playing. its a nightmare. cheers

Yes. Set up the left and right locators to demarcate the part you want to punch in. In the transport panel, click to select both the punch in and punch out (or only punch in, if you will be punching in and playing to the end). Then press "play" at some point before the punch-in. Recording will start at the left locator and stop at the right locator. You can also "loop" record a section by using the loop button on the transport bar. That will start recording at the left locator and keep looping between locators so you can record multiple takes and pick the best one.

yup, as long as you've selected the "punch in" on the transport bar, it will in fact "punch in" when it gets to the locator.
