PT LE work with m-audio hardware

hey i wanted to know if PT LE would work with any kind of m-audio hardware?

I have the audiophile 2496 and just was curious if it would work with pt le.
 
There is three sub catergories of Pro Tools. HD, LE, and M-Powered. The M-Powered is the only one that supports M-Audio hardware. I'm not sure off hand if your piece works, though I'm pretty sure it does. Take a google search and see what you come up with.

i no it works with m-powered. I am using m-powered now.

I want to no if the 2496 would work with Pro tools 8 LE
 
No. You can only use a Digidesign interface with Pro Tools LE - i.e. an Mbox, or 003 etc.

Why do you want to use M-Audio stuff with Pro Tools LE?
 
If your interface works with PT M-Powered now, then Digidesign have PT 8 in HD, LE & M-Powered. I do not see any reason for it not working with your interface.
 
I don't understand the problem here.

Pro Tools LE will categorically not work with M-Audio hardware.

Pro Tools M-Powered for M-Audio M-Powered Enabled hardware

Pro Tools LE for Digidesign LE Interfaces (i.e. Mbox, 003 etc.)

Pro Tools HD for HD Cards and Interfaces

No exceptions.
 
yea its fine pt le 8 WON'T work with m-audio hardware, i already tried it. I just wanted to upgrade to LE because i hear alot of people saying that m-powered sucks and stuff, but it's ok i will just upgrade to m-powered 8.
 
There are very few differences between M-Powered and LE:

Using DV Toolkit 2 and Complete Production Toolkit is only possible with LE

This is the first and only one that comes to mind right now.
