Problems with DAW......

I've been trying to use propellerheads record program but kept getting a message that there was too much disk activity to record a bunch of tracks at once, so I went out and bought a 1TB external hard drive to use for audio only...... I'm still having the same issue. This is my first external hard drive, I thought I installed it correctly, could my program still be using the internal hard drive? How would I get it to use the external? Do I not understand something?

Did you delete the program completely from the initial drive? Then try to run it from the external.

disk activity is not disk space

disk activity is probably from not having enough RAM for a good buffer and the HDD bandwidth is being used up for RAM and other computer processes - stop all other apps and processes using the HDD - post your PC specs
