Hi - I'm trying to record an acoustic guitar, using the following "chain" -
Guitar (Tachamini ESG455G) - Instrument lead - Audio Buddy - Instrument lead - Creative Audigy 2 Platinum sound card
The problem is that whenever I play the guitar through that setup (listening through headphones), the guitar sounds very, very distorted. The audio buddy's gain swich is turned down very low, the lowest it will audibly go (any higher causes distortion), the guitar's volume is on 3 (out of 10), and the mic swich on the sound-cards' front panel is half way.
The guitar is plugged into the first 1/4" jack port on the audio buddy, and the audio buddy is then plugged into the mic input on the audigy 2's front panel. The guitar, when played quietly, sounds fine, it's only when it's played loudly (not over the top, just loud) that distortion can be heard.
So does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
