Problem with my LDC ?

My LDC (AT4040) sends a quick burst to 0db after about 4 seconds from turning on phantom power regardless of preamp or cable. It doesn't happen with my other condensers. Is this normal? The mic still tracks the same, but I've only recently noticed this quick surge.
 
I've had a few mics do that when phantom power is applied and the gain on the pre is turned up. I make sure my gain is all the way down now because it always made me nervous to see all of my meters clip for that split second. Don't know if it's normal or not, but I've had a few that do that and they still work just as fine as before.
 
Mine does the same thing...4040, and DMP3. It always has. I haven't noticed it with other mics, but really haven't paid too much attention.
 
Yeah, I've noticed that with other mic's.
I believe something just like that has
happened when turning the phantom
power off.
