Problem with Big Drive

I have two 115 gig drives in my Pro Tools PC with only one partition on each. I started getting errors saying that the drive might be fragmented so I defragged (wasn't easy) and read tips that it's better to have multiple partitions of 10 gig each and one big partition for archiving. My plan was to split my audio drive up into six 10 gig partitions and one 55 gig and do the same for the system drive. I copied everything from the music to the system drive and tried to format the music drive but it wouldn't work. It didn't give any explaination or anything. So I tried to scan for errors, same thing. Then I tried defragging and it seems to be stuck on 96%. I deleted all the files via explorer but defrag says it's moving some .wav file that shouldn't be on there. I know it's a huge post and a strange problem but if anybody has any advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I couldn't do that either. I went under computer management and followed the help file but there was no option to partition.
