Hello,

I am setting up a digi 002 for a buddy. He just bought a Dell XPS 400 pc, and when i try to start Pro Tools its crashing. Its version 6.1 The error message is "an attempt was made to execute non-executable memory" I then have to reboot. The only info i can find on the firewire card that came with the PC is that it is OHCI compliant. My friend said he called Pro Tools who told him what to get from Dell.

Any idea why this error is happening?

99.9% probability it's because you're running Windows XP SP2 on it.
It's not compatible with the lower versions of Pro Tools (6.7 and below) unless you get the patch for it.

You will need to either reinstall SP1 or upgrade to 6.4cs9 or higher (current version is 7.1)
