Pro Tools LE 7 problem

We have found out about the "drawing automation" feature with the pencil. We have no problem getting the pencil to draw in the master track because it has the graph line visable. But the audio tracks don't have the graph lines visable, how do we get volume and panning to appear so we can draw it. I'd rather use this than regular automation.
 
automation is all found in the track's view mode
under the Record/Solo/mute buttons in the Edit Window you'll see "Waveform"
Click and hold on this to see all available views. You can use the pencil tool, trim tool or the grabber tool to help with automation.

Read your manual!! ;)
 
The boss has the manual and can't find it, we just switched buildings, I've been searching through the help files. Thanks a heap guys
