I 've got pro audio 9 on my computer and I just changed operating systems to xp prof. and reloaded my cakewalk but it keeps shutting down in the middle of recording. The last couple times I was recording slider moves in the console window. It goes completely blank then re-boots. Anyone had this problem?

your soundcard driver is probably making the trouble, see if you can reinstall it and set more buffer.

Windows XP is more picky about the quality of your RAM, than e.g. Windows 2000 and 98. I have 1 gig RAM and was running Windows 2000. When I upgraded, the machine would crash when I started to use more than 512 MB ram (Sonar, 3D studio rendering, copying large files and such). I took the second 512 MB stick out, and the machine was stable as a rock. The 512 MB stick of RAM had some minor problems.... I got a new one, and have been happy ever since. :)

I don't know if that's your problem, but it could be.
