prevent wav files from showing up in Windows media player

Seems all the bits and pieces of my songs are showing up in windows media player. I would rather this not happen. How or what do I change to keep them from showing up there?
Im afraid to delete them out of there in case it deletes them from my track in Adobe audtion 3.01.

I don't use Media Player much but I just checked and, at least on the version I have, in the Tools/Options/Library menu there's a facility to tell Media Player what folders to watch for new music and (more important) gives the ability to tell it which folders NOT to watch.

Media player (ugh) lists are only pointers to sound files. Deleting them will not affect the original files.

couldnt find a tools and options menu but thanks for letting me know that it wont delete them from the computer.
When you go to delete them it gives you the option to just remove from the player library or both the library and computer entirely. I knew this but was weary to do so.
I lost two new whole songs recentely and dont know why so didnt want to cause any issues.

maybe make some security backups - will save a lot of nerves if you loose something somehow. those libraries can be a pain in the ass sometimes
