Presonus TubePRE

I just bought a Presonus Firepod over EBAY and ended up getting one of their TubePRE's for free on top of it. Anyone ever use one of these before? What did you think? What would this be best for recording? Thanks!
 
i've had a tubepre for a while, it's OK, but i also got a firepod later and i think the pres on the firepod are better. sometimes i use the tubepre as a DI for bass and its OK for that. nothin special though.
 
Why don't you use the TubePre and "hear" for yourself. You also might try a search here as there have been topics on that unit before (somewhere around here). I will tell you this - I haven't read tons of great stuff about it here.

As an aside, I have a Firepod and love it and I'm finding the pre's on that to be a good quality (quite and don't color the sound).
