Presonus Firestudio Mobile

Hi guys I have a macbook pro and use a presonus firestudio mobile audio interface. This interface has 2 xlr inputs and 6 balanced 1/4 line level inputs. In order to hook these up with some KRKs, which would be the best way about it? Jack to jack, freeing up the two XLR inputs on the presonus for instrument use? Or would I have to record into the xlr, then unplug the instruments then plug the KRKs XLRs into the presonus? Do you think jack to jack would be ok?

If, by KRKs, you mean monitors, you're meant to connect those to outputs.

The presonus only has two outputs which are mirrored in the headphones.
You want to use TRS to TRS cables, or TRS to XLR if that's what the KRK wants.
 
Thanks for that. The KRK has XLR and jack options on the back. Would I gain any benefits from running XLR from the KRK to the jack in the presonus, or would it make no difference from a jack to jack?
