Pre-recorded open reel tape prices...

Learning, always learning
Does anyone have any idea what the price of a prerecorded reel was back when they were in production? I'm curious as how the cost of buying an album on reel differed from buying it's vinyl counterpart. Makes me wonder what the cost would be today. I know TTP has their 15 ips. albums for about $200 each, but is a whole different animal from what was released by the major labels "back in the day".

i believe they cost about 4 times the cost of an LP ... most were at 3 3/4 ips, with 7.5 ips being more common with classical titles and more rock/pop into the '70s.

I have a few pre-recorded tapes from late 50's that still got a price tag on,
between $ 4.00 and 10.00 depending on speed and music style.
Some classical was 3-4 tapes in a box and cost $ 12.00.
