AH System 8 MKIII - new owner

We are selling a 24 channel System 8 MKIII in a custom built wooden desk with multiple built in patch bays (three 24 channel TRS TRS patch bays, one 16 channel XLR patch bay and one 8 channel Elco recording snake). The desk also has a built in producers working area and the TRS patch bays are built into the desk and it has a few rack spaces still available for your other outboard gear. Power supply included and everything working 100% all the way down to the lights on the VU meters! (There are 18 VU meters). Pots and faders are clean and no faulty channels.

Our studio has gone all digital so we have decommisioned this board are are open to all offers. We are located in Las Vegas and an in-person pickup would be STRONGLY encouraged as the cost to crate and freight this board would be steep. It is extremely large and heavy.

All reasonable offers considered. If we strike a deal we can set it up as a buy-it-now eBay auction so that both buyer and seller benefit from the usual eBay and PayPal protections against fraud. Our eBay seller ID is "Studio-Solutions" and we have a long track record of high end recording gear.

Here is an mp3 sample of the drum test done with my System 8 24x8 mixer:

Recording info in case anyone cares:

Kick drum: AKG D112 6" from outside of hole, Audix D4 on beater side
Snare: Rode NT1 on top, SM57 underneath
Toms: Audix D6 on high tom, and another on the low tom
Overhead: CAD M177 (pair)

Recorded on an Allen & Heath System 8 24 channel 8 buss to an Alesis HD24XR. Various plugins used to mix it in 10 minutes--Blockfish, C1, Renaissance EQ and Paragraphic EQ. Finally, I hit it with marginal (+4.4 db at -0.1 limit) L2 Ultramaximizer to boost the track a bit for the demo.

Apologies in advance for the slightly too-loud high hat and ringy snare. :)

Thanks man!

The drum kit was a mid-priced Premier kit that was pretty well tuned (by me). I should have dampened the snare a bit more though to kill that ring, but it's a fine line between eliminating the ring and ruining the sustain.

Allen and Heath System 8 mixer (AHB system 8)

ive read old threads about this mixer but can you help me out again for some who had experience in using it... soundwise? pre-amps and eqs? compared to the new mixers like the ONYX from mackie... Alesis Analog Mixer and others..

how about comparing it with the Calrecs or Neve?

or Comparing it to the new Tascam DM3200 or DM4800 pre's and eq's ?

Also, if you could email me a link for sample of recordings using ahb system pres and eq's... jhelloy@hotmail.co.uk cheers

very confused me...

:confused::confused::confused:

thanks a lot in advance...
