It's not that I'm showing off...believe me, but I'm interested.

I can't get to it right now...uh...but if someone else posts a pic of a rack that sucks worse than mine I will play....my own game.

Do you have two desk racks completely full? Are the dynamic gear in a seprate bay from the time effects? I don't want to hear about it...show it.

Pictures are cool.

Your gonna have to play because the only things in my desktop rack are (drumroll) :

2 - Joe Meek VC3Q preamps
1 - Delta DMP2 preamp
1 - Behringer Autocom compressor/limiter
1 - Hafler TA1100 amp
1 - Johnson J-Station on the desk under the rack

i have an empty pack of Ramen noodles in the space where the RNC will be one day......

Damnit! Don't list your stuff!

Just post a pic...aww..

Ok, here it is...don't laugh..it even has a non functional patch bay in there to fill space.

Make me drool, make me laugh, just post 'em.

My home-made rack before installing gear in it...

Still have a 12-space for the recorders, a 4-space for the power amps, another 4-space for the console PSU, plus a rack (size and shape has yet to be determined) for patchbays, preamps, and note writing counter... All to be done by the end of the year.

Sorry man... No plans... It was all in my head. But since I happen to have a tape measure out...

Dimensions:

H= 64 11/16 in.
W= 20 3/4 in.
D= 24 1/2 in.
Inside W= 19 1/4 in.
Inside D= 53 1/8 in.
Door H= 36 1/6 in.
Door W= 11 15/16 in.

Materials just by look and quick measuring:

- 1 4X8 ft., 3/4 in. veneer and quality of choice.
- 4 ft. of 1X3 (really 3/4 X 2 1/2 in.) solid matching choice of wood.
- 2 ft. of 1X10 (really 3/4 X 9 1/4 in.) solid matching choice of wood.
- 5 ft. of 1X2 (really 3/4 X 1 1/2 in.) solid matching choice of wood.
- 9 ft. of 3/4 X 3/4 in. solid matching choice of wood.
- 1/2 in. dowel for screw-covering.
- A pair of 30-space rack rails.
- Wood Glue
- Wood Screws
- Wood Screws for attaching rack rails.
- Finishing Nails.
- Wood Putty.
- Hinges.

Of course, could use solid wood of choice for the entire rack. I would have, but this large, you must use the "bore, butt, and dowel" trick... Much more work and much more expensive! I've got too many racks to make to deal with that!

the black thing on the bottom ...

... is an 8 way power distributor with seperate switches for each device - it´s for the rack units that don´t have a power switch like the dbx compressors. i don´t like to leave everything powered on all the time - i just like to run what really gets used. every "channel" even has its own fuse! ... got it for about 40 or 50 euros from a musician´s flea market.

thx for the killer look! ;-)

Cool.
I have an idea for a power distrubitor that is just extension cables on like those vacuum retractors. That way amps and tabletop units or synths would be easy to get set up in the patchbay.
You'd just grab a plug off the face of the unit and pull it a couple feet.

Different but maybe usefull.

D'OH! There goes my patent!

Ok, here is a little pic, where you can see a portion of my rack.
BUT, I have new stuff since that pic... so here is a description:
http://www.hzzone.com/jpeg/c_room_image.jpg

Top to bottom:

- Nuendo Audiolink 96 Multiset
- Behringer PowerplayPro (headphone amp)

- Digitech GSP2101 Artist (guit preamp)
- Alesis DM5
- JVC Cd player (wow!)
- Adat Blackface (useless)

oh and my cable modem is also "racked" :)

And here is the rack I want:

Nice Middleman, thanks for playing!

I've never heard of ACP patchbays.
Mine is an ADC.
How are the rear terminals rigged?
Solder, plugs or what?

Autotune?

I think I should get a couple RNCs.

I like those synths, multi outputs are a must. I gotta look for a good used one.
