Peavey Power Amps

I have a Peavey CS200X power amp that I got for free from work. Is this suitable for powering studio monitors? I was hoping to save a bit and buy passive monitors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yo Matt the Freshman:

Over the years, I've found Peavey to make good products.

I have a very simple Peavey headphone connector/amp -- works great. I bought another a while back; tried it out and sent it back and went back to the Peavey.

As to if your Peavey unit will work, I don't know. However, try it on some monitors/speakers and find out.

Green Hornet :D :D :p :p :p

I figured that would be the answer. I haven't heard much about people using them for anything other than live sound, and didn't know if it would be excessively colored.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I think that particular amp is a live situation amp. I have several peavey amps ranging from 100watts to the big daddys- 2000watts. I would try it out, it may not be too colored for monitor use, even if it is, it would be a good mixdown amp.
