PC based studio

To put a long story straight some friends and I have come into some money that will be used to setup a PC based studio to help ourselves and others record good quality demos. We already have a building complete with sound proofed recording booth so thats one less hassle.

I'm wanting opinions on the best way to spend this money with what equipment I need for a 'good' setup.

Personally I use:
- Cubase SX with the standard soundcard that came with my PC
- 6 Chan Mixer (for preamps only)
- Set of monitors
- Low-end mic

But would like to know if money wasn't so much of an object what suggestions you would have for the following products and how you would use them (i.e. different uses of the mixer):
- Soundcard
- Software (both multitrack and sequencers)
- Studio monitors
- Mixer
- Mics

If I have missed anything please feel free to add it to the list. :)

My biggest concern is the Mixer and how to use one properly. I've heard stories that people loop their soundcards output back into them and then out to the monitors. What is the advantage of doing this?

you can buy then any of Digidesign's DAW systems that will cost you more then 10000$, or any HD Recording system.... Mackie, Alesis, ProToolsHD, or you can buy some SSL mixing desk with Genelec Series of big monitor systems...

i mean. ofcourse that money is much of object...

so, just say price range ...
