I've got a couple of MXL 2003 mics which I'm happy with for now. But looking forward, I'm beginning to learn about very relevant applications for omni and figure-eight mics, and I want to know the market by the time I'm ready to branch out.
Question is: In terms of the "cheapest of the fairly nice" multi-pattern condenser mics, what's out there? I have in mind a Chinese version of something like the AKG C414B or the Audio Technica AT4050.
Or should I just get a couple of B.L.U.E. Bottles? heh heh heh
Or since there's no rush, would I do better to be on the lookout for something used?
