Bought some stuff off Craigslist local. The 16 Ampex preamps may have been for an Ampex MM1000 or MM1100. Probably something like this: Tech Info: Sonicraft A2DX Lab - PhatZilla: the Ultimate Analogizer droooolllllll........... I think the 3 cards in the front (Reproduce, Bias Amp and Record) are used in several different Ampex systems. I can provide part numbers if needed. Condition - UNKNOWN as I do not have the complete system. My plan is to first see if anyone can use these preamps, etc whole. If not, I'll part them out as components like circuit cards, VU meters, switches, capacitors, etc. I will clean and test the VU meters for voltage/frequency response and ballistics (300ms 1KHz burst) before selling. I'll test the capacitors for value and leakage. So far none of the circuit cards I have looked at have had any repairs made to them. There's also a Martin Audio Varispeed III motor controller ( I assume for a R/R) and a Magnecord 1022T reel-to-reel. Maybe the Beatles used something like this Varispeed as discussed in this article: http://ofbuckleyandbeatles.wordpress.com/2010/12/05/beatles-production-tricks-part-ii-varispeed/ Again, condition is unknown on any of this gear.
