Paper or plastic leader, which do you prefer?

The title says it all. Looking to learn something from you guys, to that end, if you would, please, explain why you prefer the one you prefer.

Paper between songs and plastic at the heads and tails. The paper has less of a chance of having static charges while the plastic is stronger. If one or the other then paper.

Exactly what Richard said.

We used to put red poly leader at the start of the tape and blue at the end so we’d know if the tape was heads out or tails out.

In my own studio I put leader on each end, but no splices unless I were to send a tape out for some reason. Tape is just too expensive. You can get away with ignoring convention if you do everything in-house.
