I have a novation launchpad and Ableton Live 8. Say if I wanted to get another launchpad and it wasn't an Ableton one, would Live 8 still be compatible with my new sequencer/launchpad?

Bc the sequencer isn't mine and i need to return it to the owner sometime and I was just curious as to what my options were when getting one.
