OTC suggestions for sound board labeling tape

I just got a last minute live sound gig. Is there any good tape one could use to label a sound board? Specialty stores are not abound where I live, so any suggestions of over-the-counter, OSCO, Menards, etc. tape that won't leave a nasty residue (like duct tape) would be great.

I figure someone has been in a pinch like me before...any help is appreciated.
 
I would think white painters tape would work. The kind they use to tape off edges on a wall for example, the kind that will leave the wall in pristine condition after the tape is removed.
