Orville Guitars

Greetings,

I've noticed a few of these guitars on E-bay and am curious if any of you have owned one (or two). If so would you kindy provide a comparison to American made Gibsons as well as a recommendation regarding buying one.

I believe that I've read that the "Orville" guitars are pretty well made and they have "cheaper" electronics, but the "Orville by Gibson" guitars have better electronics and are pretty much on par with an American Gibson Les Paul Standard.

Although I've not owned one myself, I've really heard nothing but positive stuff about the Orvilles in general, though.

I was just out vintage guitar shop crawing with these Orvilles on mind, but had no luck finding one. It would be reassuring to actually play one.
The quest continues...

"Orville by Gibson"

..guitars are made in Japan, and for, the Japanese market. Generally, they seem to be replicas of Gibson models.
