Opinions on Otari MTR12

I'm planning on picking up a used Otari MTR12 to use as a mixdown deck. Was wondering if anyone out there had any experiences with this machine and opinions on it. Is 1/4 a suitable medium for final mixdown.

I've never used any Otari equipment, but you can bet if that name is on it, it will be good. Make sure it is a half-track machine.

1/4" is acceptable, 1/2" is better.

I hope no one minds me reviving this old thread seeing as how I'm considering getting one as a mastering deck. I have a Tascam 38 as of now and am wondering if getting the Otari MTR12 would be a bit redundant. Thanks.
