Okay...I don't get it.

Just hooking up a new presonus fire studio project.

Plugged an audix pl33 kick mic into input 1. It works.

Plugged into 3. Works fine.

Plugged an sm58 into input 3. Nothing.

Plugged it into input 1, and it works. Inputs 1 & 2 are mic/inst. All the rest are mic/line.

I've never known a dynamic mic to need power. So what's the deal? I don't wanna smoke the pre on this interface by "experimenting".

I guess it was the XLT/TRS cable. But that's wierd cause it worked on 1&2, and has been working with that cable through an amp.
