Oi! Distortion on ECM8000-DC OFFSET! HELP ME PLZ!

Ya haaaard me!

I've been recording in Sonar and one of my drum oh's keeps getting DC offset. And cakewalk has nothing to fix it and I don't have any editors that handle 24 bit! I downloaded the DX plug from analogX for DC offset correction but it does nothing!

Oh what can I do, what CAN I DO!?(End melodramatics)

I noticed a thread over at vsplanet.com from someone saying they were having problems with their ECM8000s o/heads distorting, presumably from overloading. It was suggested they look at using an "inline" pad switch which I think may be available from Shure.

Have you tried swapping the mics around.........see if it is one particular mic, a lead, the actual mic postitioning, the input path..........I'm clutching at straws here, but I would be trying to eliminate things one at a time to see if you can identify the problem.

Ya know? I actually havn't tried swaping the mics. I really should shouldn't I. Thanks for your help. Any more suggestions in the case this doesn't work?
