Most professionals "in the know" will only buy Oktava's from
www.oktava.com (just an amateur myself)
This is because the Oktava's quality control is very poor.
The chances of you being able to truly find a matched pair of
MK-319's there are pretty remote.
It took me over an hour to find ONE good Oktava MC-012 out of a
group of them at Guitar Center. One other one was completely dead
and another on its last legs.
For most stereo recording, you're better off with two small diaphram
condensers because they typically have better off-axis frequency
response anyway. If you can wait, you could see what Studio Projects
comes up with. If you need something right way, check out a pair of
Rode NT5's (I think I got the model# right!), they run about $300 for
the two of them. They're less $$ than properly matched pair of Oktava's
from the website listed above.
